Masters Degree Program in Experiential Health and Healing
|
 Graduate Institute offers Master’s Degree in "Integrative Health" at
Hartford Hospital
The Graduate Institute of Milford, Ct., in collaboration with Hartford Hospital’s Dept. of Integrative Medicine, now offers an M.A. in Experiential Health and Healing on site offering staff and the surrounding community the convenience of a local venue. This exciting Masters program is for individuals interested in optimum health and wellness, whether for themselves or as a practitioner. Participants will learn how to transform their approach to health and wellness by discovering how to integrate diverse complementary and alternative therapies into life and work.
The program, beginning Sept. 28, 2007, is offered one weekend a month for 22 months for 36 credits and is accredited by the State of Connecticut. Included are interactive faculty presentations, hands on demonstrations, group dialogue, as well as independent mentorships and internships based on individual needs and interests. Knowledge and practice of modalities will include Bodywork and Energy Medicine, Food and Nutrition, Mind/Body Techniques, Sound and Art Therapies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Yoga, Herbs and Botanicals, and Vitamins and Nutrition. Academic Directors are Dr. Bernie Siegel, author and retired surgeon from Yale-New Haven Hospital and, Dr. Steven Horowitz, Chief of Cardiology at Stamford University. Visiting faculty include Dr. C. Norm Shealy, M.D., Richard Caskey, D.C. and Dr. Bhaswati Bhattacharya.
