Hartford Hospital benefits from many community fund-raising events and enjoys working collaboratively with local businesses, organizations and individuals who want to raise money to support our services.

  • Black & Red Gala
    Hartford Hospital will hold its 18th annual Black & Red at The Bushnell Theatre on Saturday, January 31, 2009. The black-tie event will attract close to 800 guests for fine dining and entertainment by “Flipside”, a highly acclaimed band from Boston that has been named the best rhythm section in Boston.   • The Masquerade Ball
    Irish American Home SocietyThe Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury will hold its second annual Masquerade Ball on Saturday, October 25, 2008 to benefit the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital.  The fun filled evening will include dancing, exciting raffle prizes, and delicious food. Click here to learn more.

  • CIGNA Golf ClassicCigna Golf Classic
    The future stars of the LPGA were amazing at the Duramed Futures Tournament that was held on July 11-13 at Gillette Ridge. The event raises money for Hartford Hospital Breast Cancer Research and Programs. For more information on the event please visit www.cignagolfclassic.com.
     
  • Cuts for a Cause
    Hair Today in Glastonbury, CT hosted a special gathering Sunday, April 27, 2008, to celebrate the life of a co-worker who lost her battle to cancer. The event was a true success and was a delightful gathering of friends and the community. The mood was festive with lots of wonderful raffle prizes, food and activities for the children.
     
  • Race For The CourageousThe First Annual Race For The Courageous
    This 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk was held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center-Avon. It was a beautiful day and there was an amazing support from the community. The funds raised will benefit the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center-Avon.
     
  • Matthew Phillips 8th Annual Cut-A-Thon.
    The 8th Annual Cut-A-Thon was held Sunday, May 4, 2008. The event was a remarkable success! Radio and Television personalities came out to show their support. The event also featured a silent auction, raffle prizes, music, food and lots of fun! The event raised more than $18,000 for Hartford Hospital Helen and Gray Cancer Center’s breast cancer research programs. 
     
  • High Fashion With A HeartHigh Fashion with a Heart 
    Hartford Hospital's annual fashion show, sponsored by the Henry Low Heart Center and designed to educate women about heart disease while learning about the latest in fashion, makeup, shoes and style, was held February 2, 2008.  The show featured fashions by B K & Co. in West Hartford Center.
     
  • Dr. Caputo's Race for Cancer

    Andrew E. Caputo, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, successfully finished one of the biggest challenges of his life, the La Ruta de los Conquistadores.  On Nov. 14, 2007, he articipated in the La Ruta de los Conquistadores with some of the best “hard-core” mountain bike racers in the world.  The ride was an intense, four-day 221-mile mountain bike race across Costa Rica.  His "Race for Cancer" was to raise funds in honor of his wife Allyson who faced one of the biggest challenges in her life, her own battle with ovarian cancer

  • Panera Bread
    Panera BreadPanera Bread bakery-cafes in Canton, Enfield, Glastonbury, Manchester, Newington and West Hartford invited their customers to join the fight against breast cancer by eating their signature Pink Ribbon Bagel for breakfast, Pink Ribbon Bagel lunch or dinner during national Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, 2007.  Twenty-five cents from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold at either of the bakery-cafes was donated to Hartford Hospital’s Partnership for Breast Care.  Thank you to Panera for their support!
     
  • 3rd Annual Pink Flamingos Fund-Raiser
    This event was held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Hartford Hospital. The evening was filled with fine wines, festive food and a silent Auction. The funds raised will benefit the Partnership for Breast Care and “Take the Time” Mobile Mammography programs at Hartford Hospital.   • The 3rd Annual Run for Prostate Cancer 2008
    This 5K Run/3K Walk was held on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Riverside Park, Hartford. The funds raised will benefit the Comprehensive Prostate Cancer Program at Hartford Hospital. For more information on the event please visit www.hartfordprostaterun.org.
     
  • Michael Benoit Cancer Walk Through Coventry
    The Michael Benoit Walk Through Coventry took place on Saturday, September 8, 2007. The walk was a special walk to commemorate Michael Benoit who sadly lost his battle to cancer. The walk helped to raise awareness of cancer, to educate the public, and our communities. The proceeds of the Michael Benoit Walk Through Coventry went towards the Cancer Center Programs at the Helen and Harry Gray Center.

     
  • A Golf Outing in Memory of Skip McDermott:
    The fifth annual “Skip McDermott Golf Outing” was held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, CT to remember Windsor resident Francis “Skip” McDermott. The tournament was held to commemorate what would have been his 34th year as kidney transplant recipient. The proceeds from the tournament and banquet went to the Connecticut Kidney Research Fund, Inc., which was founded by McDermott more than 25 years ago. The fund will donate the money to local Transplant Foundations including Hartford Hospital’s Transplant Program.
     
  • The PIP Open
    The 6th Annual Pip Open Golf Tournament in memory of John L. Pipoli was held on Monday, June 9, 2008.
     
  • 18th Annual Raynbow Golf Classic
    The 18th Annual Raynbow Golf Classic was held June 23rd, 2008, at Wampanoag Country Club, West Hartford to benefit Diabetes Research. 
      
  • Poker Run to Benefit LIFE STAR
    The 2nd Annual Hartford Hospital Hawks Motorcycle Club Poker Run to benefit LIFE STAR was held Saturday, June 21, 2008.
     
  • Trinity College Car Wash to Benefit Mobile Mammography
    Psi Upsilon Fraternity of Trinity College hosted a successful car wash on the Trinity College Campus on Sunday, April 22, 2007 that raised $2,000 for the Mobile Mammography unit at Hartford Hospital.
