Dates:
The program begins in September of each year. 
Hours:
Clinical Hours:
7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. (with 30 min. lunch) and 1:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. (with 30 min. dinner)
Evening rotation approximately every 10-12 weeks
 
Class Hours:
8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (with 1 hour lunch)
Total program hours will never exceed 40 per week 
Clinical Instruction:
Following a 5-week orientation consisting of classroom and laboratory instruction, students will perform clinical rotations at the following sites:
  • Hartford Hospital Radiology Department, Hartford, CT
  • Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford, CT
  • MidState Medical Center Radiology Department, Meriden, CT
  • Jefferson Radiology, P.C., Hartford, CT

    Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from class and clinical assignments.
Academic Instruction:
Classroom instruction is held on the Hartford Hospital campus in the Education and Resource Center.
Assessment:
Student competence is determined by written and practical examinations, and by clinical evaluations. Clinical staff are involved in evaluating the students in terms of both their professional growth and their technical ability.
Program Costs ~ Tuition and Expenses:
Application Fee: $50 non-refundable processing fee 
            Tuition: $3,000 / year (as of Sep. 2007) 
              Room: approx. $350 per month for a dormitory room 
              Books: approx. $700 for all books required  
          Uniforms: approx. $200 
            Parking: $75 / month @ local garages 
   Miscellaneous: approx. $100
                      
 (CPR, ID badge, Personal Radiographic Markers, Allied Health patches)
All costs are subject to change and there is no tuition refund for early termination or withdrawal from the program.
Graduation Requirements:

Upon completion of the following requirements, students will receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to take the ARRT certification examination:
  • Complete all didactic courses with a minimum grade of 75%.
  • Maintain a combined average of 75% or higher on the 7 comprehensive exams given during the program.
  • Maintain a minimum clinical grade average of 85% at the end of each semester.
  • Successfully complete all required clinical competencies.
  • Follow hospital and program policies as outlined in the student handbook.
  • Make up any sick time in excess of 16 days.
Student Loans/Financial Aid:
Student Loans are not available through the Hartford Hospital School of Allied Health, however financial aid and loans are offered through the following institutions:
